Make Room for Growth- Be Wild
Why Every Garden Needs a Little Wildness
There is something beautiful about a perfectly planned garden, but some of the most magical moments happen when we leave a little room for nature to do its thing.
A volunteer sunflower popping up where you didn't plant it. Bees finding your herbs before you've even noticed they've bloomed. A patch of dill becoming home to swallowtail caterpillars.
On our farm, we've learned that a thriving garden isn't about perfection—it's about partnership. When we allow a little wildness, we invite pollinators, beneficial insects, and unexpected beauty into our spaces.
This summer, try leaving a corner of your garden a bit untamed. Let a few flowers go to seed. Plant herbs like dill, borage, and calendula and watch who comes to visit. You might be surprised by how much life appears when you stop trying to control every inch of the garden.
Gardening isn't just growing food. It's creating a tiny ecosystem filled with wonder, learning, and a reminder that nature often knows exactly what she's doing.
What unexpected plant or creature has shown up in your garden this year? We'd love to hear your stories.
